The Arak University of Medical Sciences is a medical school in Arak, Iran. This institution is the primary health-care provider in Markazi
province and one of Iran's largest central universities. The institution was founded via the efforts of the director of regional health
organizations in Markazi province, the Majlis representative of Arak, and officials from the Ministry of Health, Treatment, and Medical
Education. After obtaining the necessary permissions for the establishment of the Arak School of Medicine in 1987, the School of Medical
Sciences began operations in February 1988, bringing together the school of medicine and the college of nursing and midwifery, accepting
60 students in the medical field, and was separated and operated independently in 1988.
The University was renamed "University of Medical Sciences" in 1990. With the incorporation of regional health organizations into the
University of Medical Sciences in 1994, this university was renamed the University of Medical Sciences and Health Services, Markazi
Province. It assumed responsibility for providing health services in the province. In 1986, the school commenced operations to educate
and train society's necessary physicians. Basic and clinical sciences are the two areas of scientific and educational activity.
The school operates over an area of more than 10,000 square meters and has amenities such as a laboratory, dormitories, library, and
computer hardware and software services, sporting space, and so on. Markazi is a public higher education institution in the medium-sized
city of Arak (population 500,000-1,000,000). Arak University of Medical Sciences is a coeducational higher education institution
officially accredited/recognized by Iran's Ministry of Health and Medical Education.Arak University of Medical Sciences provides courses and programmes that lead to
legally recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor's degrees
(certificates, diplomas, associates, or foundation degrees), bachelor's degrees, and
master's degrees in a variety of fields of study. Arak University of Medical Sciences
also provides students with academic and non-academic facilities and services,
including a library and administrative services.
Arak University is honored that many of the high-rank authorities of the Islamic
Republic of Iran have studied at least of their academic degrees from Arak
University. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education
of Iran, Arak University of Medical Sciences is a coeducational Iranian higher
education institution.
